Julie Russ Harris manages a diverse portfolio of initiatives and projects guided by the goal of increasing the quality of culturally diverse children’s learning environments Most recently, her work has focused on the development of literacy curricula and interventions, the design and implementation of innovative professional development programs and materials for early educators, and project management for the the study of Cognitive, Social-Emotional, and Reading Development. With her colleagues, Harris has authored several publications, including book chapters, journal articles, policy briefs, and the book, “Cultivating Knowledge, Building Language,” an instructional guide for educators serving English language learners.  A former teacher and reading specialist. Julie earned her B.A. from Tufts University and her Ed.M. in Language and Literacy from HGSE.
